ClipSpeak. Simple text-to-speech tool. Sits in the system tray and ’speaks’ any text you highlight can and copy (Ctrl C). Only comes with one voice, Microsoft Sam, who sounds a bit rough, but you can add other voices.

It’s fully portable too. I’ve not tried it on a thumb/flash drive, but it should work ok.

What is it?

The Foxmarks Bookmark Synchronizer automatically synchronizes your bookmarks between two or more computers running Firefox.

Why do I need it?

If you have Firefox on more than one computer, or if you have Firefox Portable, you can make sure that all your Firefoxes have exactly the same bookmarks, automatically.

No more emailing bookmarks to yourself. Just synchronise your bookmarks to Foxmarks and you’re all up to date.

It’s great on Firefox Portable for thumb drives.

How can I use it?

Download it from Foxmarks http://www.foxmarks.com/

or…

Download it from Firefox addons https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2410

Add it to your Firefox browsers. Synchronise your bookmarks and tada!!

I’ve tried a few media players on my thumb-drive. Xmplay is the one that worked best on our corporate setup. The skins are pretty good too.

click for Xmplay

The best browser… now on a stick.

click for Firefox Portable

It’s great. Now you can open your favourite browser anywhere – like in class, or in workshops, or on any public PC. It works with no problems on our corporate IT setup.

Top tip. Install Foxmarks, on both your Firefox Portable and your desktop Firefox, so you can synchronise your bookmarks automatically between both. Life keeps getting better.
